2017 FALL / WINTER BI-WEEKLY FARM SHARE

7 total vegetable shares are provided every other week over a three month period, with a DOUBLE VALUE Share (this includes the value of 2 shares in one box) on 11/21/17 (for the Tuesday pick-up, note this isn’t a normal bi-weekly Tuesday) and 11/17/17 (for the Friday pick-up) just in time for a bountiful Thanksgiving meal.

In order to maintain and improve the health of the soil a diverse array of vegetables and cover crops are planted and rotated at Farm N’ Wild Wellspring to ensure that nutrients are returned to the soil and pest pressure and nutrient depletion is kept to a minimum. This means your support as a farm share member allows me to grow and find a healthy home and happy belly for ALL of the veggies, not just the ones we want to pick and choose at a market. As a farm share member you help me stay motivated during the rush of the fall harvest that overlaps with fall plantings and keeps me warm on those cold winter harvest days. Your support and my promise to provide you with healthy vegetables is what keeps me going and inspires me to work harder every day to become a better farmer.

Examples of fall vegetables, that will vary with availability and weather: Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Carrots, Beets, Radish, Celeriac, Celery, Rutabagas, Turnips, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Parsnip, Onions, Garlic, Kale, Chard, Spinach, Bok Choi, Mustard Greens, Mache, Winter Squash, Cabbage, Radicchio, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kohlrabi.

FOR EVERY 3 SHARES SOLD, ONE WILL BE DONATED TO MEMBERS OF THE OUT BOULDER YOUNG ADULT COOKING GROUP. YOUR SUPPORT ENABLES ME TO CONTINUE TO DONATE FOOD and TIME TO THIS GROUPS COOKING ENDEAVORS.

It makes her feel at home in a place to have her hands in the Earth. Where do you find your greatest sense of place? What is the place that you understand best? That you know best and knows you in return?

Beauty is an emerging fullness, a greater sense of grace and elegance, a deeper sense of depth, and also a kind of homecoming for the enriched memory of your unfolding life.

We each carry true nature, or wildness. We each carry within us, beyond ego identity, a wellspring of soul.

The ancient rhythms of the earth have insinuated themselves into the rhythms of the human heart. The earth is not outside us; it is within: the clay from where the tree of the body grows.

GROW

Fresh produce can be found at Salto Coffee Works in Nederland, Colorado every Wednesday late-afternoon from June-November.
Growing open-pollinated, diversified vegetables on a small-scale in Boulder County, Farm n' Wild Wellspring is dedicated to the health of the land and those that are fed by her.
With a passion for local adaptability, resiliency and seed sovereignty, Farm n' Wild Wellspring is committed to growing only open-pollinated varieties of vegetables. In collaboration with Lineage Seeds and Noble Grain Alliance Farm n' Wild Wellspring will dedicate some space to trial and produce regionally adapted heirloom grains and vegetable seeds.
After learning, apprenticing, and growing at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in New York for three years, Krisan has returned to her beloved home in Colorado with a deep gratitude for all of those that continue to teach her and a renewed love for place and home.
Here's to a new beginning and years of growth and learning and beauty and connection. With love and gratitude.
