Beauty is an emerging fullness, a greater sense of grace and elegance, a deeper sense of depth, and also a kind of homecoming for the enriched memory of your unfolding life.

The Farm

Wild Wellspring Farm is a queer woman owned and operated farm, rooted in economic and environmental justice with a strong focus on inclusivity in the food system. We offer a WINTER-ONLY vegetable CSA in Boulder County, Colorado (from November through March), always available at sliding-scale prices, to ensure that our community has access to healthy food at an affordable price, during the time of year when fresh vegetables are at a minimum.

We grow using low-till, small-scale, intensive systems, integrating cover crop and soil health into every planting, and grow only open-pollinated vegetables, to emphasize the importance of and respect of this place we get to grow and live and eat.

Wild Wellspring Farm is nestled in the foothills of Boulder County, at the base of Haystack Mountain, with a clear view of the majestic Rocky Mountains, grounded in place and full of gratitude for the land we are privileged to steward.

Located on the stolen land of the Arapahoe, Cheyenne and Ute Nations, we honor the pain and challenge that comes with tending and occupying this land, and recognize that this acknowledgment will never be enough to remedy the historical traumas that this nation is built on and is still grappling with.

The Farmers

Krisan Christensen

Krisan is the female queer-identified owner/operator of Wild Wellspring Farm. Growing food for her community and tending to the land brings Krisan the greatest sense of place and home, tending the land nurtures her just as much as the food nurtures her extended community.

Krisan began her professional life as the Art Director of Womens' Adventure magazine and after years of dedicated work chose to start living her own adventures. The first of which was helping run the Bakery Department at Alfalfa's Market, and then expanded to two+ years of travesersing the United States (and parts of Canada), helping put on farm-to-table dinners with Outstanding in the Field. Her travels around the country brought her to Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in New York where she truly began her farming education, first as the Greenhouse Apprentice, then as the Propagation Fellow.

After learning, apprenticing, and growing at Stone Barns, Krisan returned to her beloved home in Colorado in 2016 to start Wild Wellspring Farm, from a place of deep gratitude for all of those that continue to teach her and help her grow. She was a founding leader of the local Flatirons Farmer’s Coalition Chapter, and currently serves on the board of the Boulder County Farmers Market and is a mentor for GoFarm and Women, Food and Agriculture Network beginning farmers. She loves giving back to the farming community and encouraging the current and next generation of growers.

Shan Wo

Shan and Krisan met at a Young Farmers event when they had both recently returned to Colorado from some time away, and their friendship has grown over the years. Shan has been contributing her steadfast calm, hard work, and inquiring thoughts and conversations to Wild Wellspring Farm since 2016. When not at the farm Shan is busy making incredible custom bike bags for her own thoughtful company: Reroot Outdoors.

Here's to new beginnings, seasonal eating and years of growth and learning, beauty and connection.

With love and gratitude.
